I can’t quite believe that our wedding day is only 5 months away. That just makes me panic a little bit. I really don’t know where the time has gone. It’s crazy that we are meeting with cake people and florists and things like that. Part of me just never thought we would get here. Obviously, I knew we would at some point, but since we have been engaged for so long it just never seemed possible.
You might not know this, but our wedding venue is about 2 hours north of Atlanta, so going there is a commitment. We have scheduled some time the weekend of Valentine’s Day to:
- Have our food tasting
- Meet our coordinator
- Meet with 2 different florists and booking one
- Booking our rehearsal dinner venue
- Meet with a cake baker and taste cake
We have our menu picked out (for the most part) and we get to actually taste the food that we have chosen. Our venue also has on site catering, so I am excited to see what we chose. We will be doing this Friday Feb. 14th, and I am really excited to try everything. I have no idea what it will taste like, but from everyone I have talked to that has stayed there and ate at the restaurant, they loved the food.
Meet Our Coordinator
Our venue also has an onsite coordinator that has been my point of contact from the beginning. The original woman that I was emailing with and met twice decided to leave the company after having her 2nd child. She was replaced by someone who we have not met, but has gone above and beyond my personal expectations through answering all the emails I have sent. And Lord knows I have sent her A LOT of emails. I can’t wait to meet her in person and get a bunch of stuff finalized.
Meet With Florists
We decided to get our flowers from a florist up where our venue is. It will be easier and less stressful on me if they are located close to our venue. I have been in contact with the 2 florists we are meeting for months now, so we finally get to meet them both and choose one for our wedding. Now, flowers aren’t a big deal to me. I want them to look nice, but I am not real picky about it and I don’t want to spend a lot of money on them. Our venue is so picturesque and that is what I want people to remember, not the types of flowers we had.
Booking Our Rehearsal Dinner
My dad actually recommended the restaurant we are having our rehearsal dinner at. He loved the food, so I figured that was a win. I emailed the manager of the place and have our menu picked out, we just need to put down our deposit when we are up there. He already has us penciled on his calendar, which is great. We just need to officially “book” it.
Meet With Cake Bakers
This is probably the one big thing that Jeremy wants. He loves cake (I do too), so he is very interested in making it taste good. We decided not to have a grooms cake, so his choice on what the innards taste like will be all him. I personally just care what it will look like, and we both have agreed on the design we want…so he gets to pick what it tastes like. I personally can’t wait to eat some cake and see what this baker can do.
