Oh…we have all been there. You go on a date with so much promise. You get all gussied up and are so excited, and then BAM. Something happens to completely change your mind.
You don’t follow? Well, you are lucky. I know from personal experience that online dating – and dating in general – is hard work. As women, we put ourselves out there so much and to be rejected again and again is incredibly difficult. But have no fear. Today, I want to share a true story that happened to me back when I was dating online.
*This happened before Jeremy and I met. I met this guy around the same time as Jeremy, but it fizzled quickly. You are about to find out why.
When you date online, you have to put yourself out there. I know I already mentioned that, but I feel like it needs to be repeated. When I joined Okcupid.com, I sent out a bunch of emails (very vague ones) to guys that looked like winners. Yes, Jeremy was among this group of men that I emailed. Little did I know what the future held for us.
I give you The Shady Date Chronicles.
I am getting way off track here.
I emailed a bunch of guys to see who would email me back. When I got responses, I would see if they would be “meet” worthy. Should I meet them or not? Are they good enough for what I think I want? If they answered those questions, then we would keep emailing. Confused yet?
Anyways, there was one guy that stood out to me. No it wasn’t Jeremy. But this guy seemed almost too perfect. And I soon found out why. I met him in person and everything went great. He seemed so interested and I loved that. We started kissing at the end of the first date (I think–it’s been so long the details are fuzzy).
The kissing continued for the second date and even the third date. I think it was around this time (again, fuzzy with the details. It was over 4 years ago), that we were making out on his couch. And he uttered these words, “I wanna do you.”
Err, what? Excuse me? I’m sorry, but that doesn’t sound very gentlemanly to me. You say, “I wanna do you” in the heat of the moment? Yea…I left after he said that and ended up meeting Jeremy shortly thereafter.
What guy in his right mind (or head – apparently), says something like that to a woman? Oh right, Juan Pablo. Yea, we don’t know exactly what he said to Claire, but we can assume it was something to this effect. Again, who thinks this is OK to say to someone? Men!
Do you have a shady date story?
