Check out Part 1 if you missed it last week. Alright, let’s start with Part 2.
Now that all of your boards are set up, it’s time to use them to start planning.
But how do you do that? Well, it’s quite simple.
Think about it. You have already gone through all your pins and picked the ones you really love. You have researched these to make sure that any DIY can be done or it can be bought. You put time into these pins, so you should reap the rewards.
Step 6: Grab your fiance and grab some wine
Since everything on Pinterest is organized, you can easily spot the stuff you love and then show them to your fiance. We did this more times that I can count. When it was time to decide on our invitation design, I sat Jeremy down and we were able to pick the 2 that we both loved. Our designer (his sister) then created them for us based on the Pinterest/Etsy design.
We did the same thing for our programs as well. We mashed up things I had found on Pinterest to make the programs that we wanted.
Step 7: Send your Pinterest pictures to your vendors
This step is key. I know that our cake and our flowers wouldn’t have turned out the way they did if it weren’t for Pinterest. Especially the florist. She created exactly what the Pinterest pictures looked like and then some. I have a whole post planned for her because she deserves it and truly went above and beyond.
Our cake baker was also able to create the cake we wanted based on a Pinterest picture. It is such an asset to have.
Step 8: Bring your phone or iPad to your vendor meeting
This sort of goes with Step 7, but it’s important to remember to bring it with you. I bet 99% of you have Pinterest loaded on your phones. When you go meet up with a vendor — especially florists or your cake baker — pull up the boards you love and show them which pins you love the most.
More than likely the vendor you are meeting with will want you to send them the picture if you haven’t done it already. Trust me…do this. It will make your life easier and your vendors will probably love it too.
Step 9: Sit back and breathe
Wedding planning can totally suck, so use Pinterest to your advantage and breathe after you have everything organized. You can always go back and reread that article or double check the checklist you have saved. Breathe, because you deserve it and have worked hard at planning your wedding.
How did you plan your wedding?
