I feel like we are going to blink and poof Halloween will be here. And then that means that Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner. I mean, where has this year gone? Holy crap.
Anyways, something that I love about Halloween are the costumes that kids pick. I mean, duh. That was always the best part. And I love that Halloween is an expression of their little personalities. It also lets us old folks know what is hip and new. HA!
I usually was in a dance costume from the year before, but in 1988, my mom sewed the costumes for my sister and me. She turned us in to crayons.
She even sewed us the trick or treat bags that we used. That woman did a fabulous job sewing. She can’t really sew anymore (or hasn’t tried in 26 years).
I think my favorite part of the costume was the hat. I feel like no stone was left unturned with this costume!
This Halloween was significant to me because my mom sewed our costumes. We also matched, which I loved. It was the first time that I think I realized that my sister and I were sisters. That might sound weird, but it seemed to be the first time that I realized it. I was 4 years old people…cut me some slack!
