For Labor Day weekend, Jeremy and I decided to go and visit some of his family in Indiana, aka take the city girl to the country. We haven’t been back to visit his family in ages! It sure felt that way. So, it was time to finally get back up there and see tons of people.
Jeremy’s mom planned a party for us to celebrate our wedding and marriage. It was very low key, which was awesome. It was also held at their house, so that meant over 50 relatives in a house. Oh and did I mention it was freaking hot on Sunday? Yea…I was sweating my face off!
It was so much fun to see all of his family again. We also had an opportunity to see some friends who live up there and we headed to Illinois to see Jeremy’s grandmother. Since we seem to only make it up there every year or so, we wanted to try to see as many people as possible.
On the way to Jeremy’s Grandma’s house, we pass through some awesome windmill farms. If you have never experienced these before, they are huge. And the pictures don’t do them justice at all. The blades are gigantic and the motors that run them are probably larger than some houses! They do make some pretty gorgeous scenery though!
A few fun facts about Indiana:
- It’s hotter than Georgia in the summertime
- It’s so flat
- Corn is everywhere
- If there isn’t corn, the farms have soybeans
- The corn fields provide crazy beautiful sunsets
What did you do this weekend?
