I have documented my struggles with my skin on the blog before. And this is an exciting post. I ran out of makeup! I was using Almay makeup that had the salicylic acid in it. I don’t know if it actually worked at helping with the appearance of zits, but I was ready to get something new. I wanted more coverage, more of the right color.
I went with Clinique. I have been a Clinique user before (the days of the dreaded yellow moisturizer) and went back after hearing rave reviews of them. Thanks Nicole for that. You brought my confidence back into their products
Sara was my consultant and she hooked me up! I decided to go into the place with no makeup on and I am sure I was a scary monster when she first saw me. I have zits and dark spots. My main question for her was what type of foundation to use. They have an acne line that has salicylic acid in it and a dark spot line so I wasn’t sure which one would be best for my skin.
She thought that the Acne Solutions foundation would work better for me.
I read reviews that said the dark spot line was a little oily…so I was glad of this. She settled on Fresh Alabaster for me. I am really fair skinned. She also said I should try the All About Eyes Concealer Light Neutral under my eyes as well as on the places that need it on my face. She did it, and it looks awesome.
Finally she hooked me up with a pressed powder to “set” the foundation. I had never used pressed powder before, only foundation and I noticed that after eating and near the end of the day my foundation would be gone. I was tired of that. Wouldn’t you be? So, I finally bought some pressed powder to stop this problem. I ended up getting the Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder Stay Buff.
Now that I have the makeup situation covered, I will be switching to Cliniques Acne Solutions line of skin care. They have a 3 step system similar to Proactiv, but a lot cheaper. Imagine that. Proactiv was too expensive for me and it wasn’t really delivering the results I wanted. I still have some of that to use, but I will be switching once it’s done.
What is your makeup routine?
