I am pretty picky when I get contacted by companies. It doesn’t happen often that a company reaches out to you on your blog and then goes to follow you on every social media outlet, you take notice. And I am so glad that I did.
Relished is a company that delivers a weeks worth of meals to your door. All of the ingredients are included, including the meats that you need. Everything comes already portioned and packaged for the meals they go with. Can cooking get any easier?
The meat was in the bottom of the box and all the other ingredients that you needed are in the brown bags. They include everything you could need. Butter was included, all veggies, the polenta, the quinoa…everything.
How It Works:
- You join. It is $9.95 per serving per meal and you can order up to 5 meals per week. You can skip weeks at your leisure as well and you can cancel at any time.
- Relished shops for you. They choose fresh, high quality ingredients for your meals.
- The chefs at Relished create a new menu and recipe cards each week for you to be able to cook like a pro.
I did a test purchase and for 3 meals for 2 people would be about $60. That includes everything you need to make those 3 meals.
Lamb Meatballs with Polenta
This meal was hands down my favorite. It was also the first one that I made. It took me about 20 minutes to get dinner cooked and I was even able to serve it to my dad who randomly stopped by our house to give us our taxes. The flavors blended so well. It was tangy and sweet and salty yet perfect. My dad, who is pretty picky about new foods, went back for seconds. To me, that was the seal of approval I wanted.
What made this so easy was knowing everything was portioned and the directions were so easy to understand. Each recipe comes with a letter-sized cardstock paper with pictures and the directions. Since you already have everything you need right in front of you, already portioned out, it makes cooking so much quicker.
Panko Crusted Cod and Roasted Veggies
The next recipe was the Cod. I’m not a huge fish eater and Jeremy isn’t either, but this was pretty darn good. I wish I had cooked the veggies longer since the carrots (which were already peeled) so that they weren’t crunchy, but that isn’t Relished’s fault.
Even though we don’t eat fish very often, this dish was fabulous. There was PLENTY of panko mixture to use, which I loved. And adding the lemon helped mask the fishy flavor of the Cod. I actually really enjoyed this meal and so did Jeremy, which is saying something!
Quinoa and Veggies with Pan Seared Chicken
I personally love any recipe that involved quinoa. Seriously. I love it. It’s like rice, but tastes better and better for you. Yum! I also loved that the quinoa was mixed with other veggies. One thing about this recipe: it was the last one that I cooked and the yellow pepper had started to go bad. It arrived withered so by the time I made it, it was beyond repair and I didn’t get another one. So there should be yellow pepper in this recipe and I just didn’t have it on hand.
Another fun fact: I love brussel sprouts. I know. What? Yep. I absolutely love them. The fact that they were in the quinoa just made me that much more happy.
Overall, I believe this is a great company. Just having the convenience and know that everything is portioned for you makes me want to order from them again. Their recipes are delicious and so easy to make. You will not be disappointed. And having that peace of mind that I don’t have to come up with 3 meals for us was amazing.
