We have finally decided on our mini-moon destination. Finally. We were so conflicted. First, we wanted a full blown honeymoon at an all-inclusive. And we will probably still do that…eventually. We decided to take a mini-moon after our wedding and then go on a big honeymoon next year.
But why? Why a mini-moon and not a week long honeymoon?
The main reason for this was because of Jeremy’s job. At his job, he accrues vacation (at only 3.5 hours a paycheck), so he won’t have enough built up by wedding day for a full week off. This isn’t really ideal, or my first choice, but I am so happy that we finally have it booked and agreed upon. Agreeing on a location and budget for the honeymoon was a bit difficult. We just are super indecisive and rely so much on reviews that it sometimes makes it difficult to make decisions.
We decided to take our mini-moon to Asheville, NC. I am so so so excited about this! I can’t wait to get there and celebrate the beginning of our marriage.
- It’s about an hour away from our venue, which makes it perfect.
- There is great food and nightlife there that we can partake in if we want.
- It’s in the mountains, which I love.
- We both haven’t been there before.
- We can do outdoorsy things like zip-lining and hiking.
We are also not staying in a hotel. We found an apartment to rent through airbnb.com. I have never used this website before, but I will be using it again. The owner of the apartment building we are renting is awesome. She has already told us where to go zip-lining and is open to helping us any way she can. It helps that I have had a friend stay with her before, so there is that as well.
Would you go on a mini-moon if you couldn’t go on a week long honeymoon?
