How are we already at the reception? Can it really be coming to an end already? Don’t worry. I have quite a few posts up my sleeve, but I am seeing the light at the end of the Wedding Wednesday tunnel. If anyone would like to start taking over the linkup, please let me know. I’d love to have you start co-hosting and then I can turn the reigns over to you when I am finished.
Both of the pictures above were candid ones. We were waiting for our food to be served to us and so we were alone. We got to take a few more moments to ourselves and that included holding hands and kissing as husband and wife. I had no idea that they got pictures of us doing this – I thought they were eating as well. But these are some of my favorite pictures during our reception. There are a ton of wonderful pictures, but these are pretty spectacular.
After our first dance, my dad gave a speech to us and to welcome everyone to the reception. It was a wonderful speech.
This picture needs an explanation. So, I was dieting for my wedding – as most brides are and that meant that I couldn’t have my favorite Girl Scout cookie. My favorite are Tagalongs and I have documented my love of them quite a few times on this blog. Anyways, my dad graciously was keeping the Tagalongs away from me while I was dieting and then he brought them to me during the reception. I was a teeny bit excited to finally have them in my possession.
I wish we had stood up near where everyone was giving their speeches. I didn’t get the memo that we should have stood up until after the fact. If I knew we should have done that, we would have been standing. Oh well!
The speeches were so much fun. I don’t remember everything everyone said, but we only had my sister (Maid of Honor) and Jeremy’s 2 best men give speeches during the reception. We let everyone else give a speech at our rehearsal dinner.
Cutting the cake was fun. We behaved ourselves and didn’t smash it in each others faces although there were some people not invited to our wedding that wanted us to. They are sitting behind us in this picture and were there for a family reunion. It was fun, regardless! And the cake tasted pretty darn good too.
