After I got ready, it was time to meet my daddy for our first look. I knew very early in the planning process that I wanted to have a first look with my dad. Part of that could have been from my sisters wedding (I need to blog about this story one day), and part of it was because I wanted to not completely lose it during our walk down the aisle.
My goal was to be cool and collected all day. That sort of happened, but this was one of the most emotional moments from our wedding day. If you are planning your wedding, please consider doing a first look with whoever is giving you away. It was magical and a moment I won’t ever forget.

After my dad and I had our first look, I got a wonderful surprise. I don’t know if it was planned or not, but my grandmother showed up at that moment.
A quick story: Do you see the hankie in my hand? That was a gift from my grandmother. She left it for me in a book she created called “Grandmother Remembers”. It had pictures of her growing up, stories from her, and is a treasured possession of mine. She created it herself, with love and I really do love it. At the back of the book was the hankie. She had it engraved with her initials in blue and told me to use it on my wedding day and think of her. Well, she was there, so here are pictures of her seeing me for the first time and me showing her that I had in fact brought the hankie. You will see that hankie a lot in later recap posts.
These pictures make me so happy!

I am co-hosting the linkup for the next 3 weeks before we say goodbye to Mary. I can’t believe she is almost out of wedding posts. So, you can join in on either my blog or Mary’s for the next 3 weeks. If you would like to co-host with me after those 3 weeks, please let me know! I’d love to have you along with me.
