I haven’t mentioned it, but my birthday is at the end of the month. And you guessed it. I will be turning 31. You guys are too smart…how did you know? Oh wait. It’s up there in the title. Silly me.
When I turn 31, I have 5 things I want to learn this year. I think it’s so important to continue to grow as a person, and these things are going to help me learn new skills…even for my old self.
I have been debating this for a long time, but I am going to be bringing back my Photoshop 101 series this year. Yes, it’s a lot of work to put them together, but I did learn a lot last go around. I want to learn Photoshop enough to be able to create my own images for the blog.
I am not sure when I am going to relaunch my Photoshop 101 series, but just know that it is going to be coming back. I will be making an announcement in a few weeks.
Become comfortable with public speaking
I hate public speaking. I start to get sweaty and super nervous. Well, I am going to get more comfortable with it this year. I volunteered to lead a group that puts together monthly presentations. We will need to speak each month and introduce the speakers. I will also be meeting tons of new people in our organization, which I love.
My goal is to become less nervous about speaking in public and maybe actually enjoy it.
I love photography and taking pictures, but I want to get more serious about it this year. I want to really take my hobby and learn as much as I can about it. This might include taking a photography class – whatever it takes to start getting serious about something you really love to do.
Cook things I have never cooked before
I have sort of started doing this, but I do want to not be afraid of weird ingredients. I want to feel more comfortable in the kitchen cooking strange things. There are so many ingredients that I have never heard of, especially at the farmer’s market, so I want to start cooking recipes with new stuff.
I have always wanted to start watercoloring. I want to start small and see where it takes me. I wish I had another room to actually set up for painting, but I do want to try it. No better time to try something new than now, right?
What do you want to learn in 2015?
